The New Covid-19 Variant – Omicron Variant
There is a new Covid-19 variant and it has nations and people up in a panic. According to the WHO, the Omicron variant which was first detected in South Africa, is a cause for concern. As of this time, not much is know about the virus.

As of December 4, there has been cases in over a dozen states and is likely to increase in the coming days and weeks. The first detected case was from a person who returned to San Francisco from South Africa.
Due to increasing confirmed cases of the variant, new lockdown measures and travel restrictions are being imposed.

There is much that still remains unknown with the Omicron variant. In South Africa where the variant was first discovered, it is already the dominant form of the virus and a rise in covid cases has been experienced, primarily those that has already been infected previously.
